Q: How Do I Adopt an Animal?

A: Sometimes Villagers want to move away, when they do they’ll alert you when you walk by and tell you the date they want to move away on (usually within the next week) You then have the option to either beg them to stay or let them leave. Tell them to leave, and when another person comes to your village, they can then convince the animal to move to their town.

On the animal’s moving day you can talk to the animal you want to adopt in their house, this option should pop up. Select the top option and you should find your new animal friend moving in within the week!

Q: How do I get the Animal I want?

A:  Send the person who owns the animal an ask, and offer whatever you have. But ultimately who gets the animal is up to the person giving the Villager away, they might give them away for free, ask for bells, or ask for an item they really want!

-

Q: Why haven’t you posted my villager yet?

A: There are a number of reasons a Villager might not be posted! Incorrectly submitted posts are deleted immediately, with no notification to the poster. Posts that qualify for immediate deletion: submitted in the ask box or submission form not filled out (at all, or completely) or you asked for “something” in the submission (either bells, animals you want to trade for, or items).

Another reason could be that your animal’s moving day is four or more days in the future. I do not post animals as they get submitted, because I get many submissions a day and because they are time sensitive I can not queue them. I post the most urgent animals first (i.e. animals that are moving today, tomorrow, the day after) and then hold on to the animals who are moving away later, which get posted when they are 3 days to their moving day!

Q: BUT I WANT YOU TO POST MY ANIMAL NOW! RIGHT NOW! WHY ARE YOU SO SLOW? WHY WONT YOU JUST POST MY ANIMAL RIGHT NOW. I KNOW MY ANIMAL DOESN’T MOVE OUT FOR ANOTHER WEEK, AND THAT THERE ARE OTHER ANIMALS WHO ARE MOVING SOONER WHO TAKE MORE PRIORITY OVER MY ANIMAL BUT I WANT YOU TO POST MY ANIMAL. I DON’T CARE IF IT MAKES THE BLOG NON-LINEAR, MAKING IT HARDER FOR PEOPLE TO BROWSE THE BLOG AND FIND ANIMALS WHO ARE STILL AVAILABLE. OMG!!!!! JUST POST EVERY ANIMAL YOU GET AS SOON AS YOU GET THEM! EVEN IF THERE’S 50 ANIMALS STOP BEING SO SLOW AND JUST POST THEM ALL!

A: No.

Q: My villager has been adopted! Can you edit my post to say they’re not available anymore?

A: No! There are so many of you, that would be a lot of hunting and editing for little ol’ me! But!! If your animal was very popular, and people are still sending you asks looking to adopt, you can send and ask to me with the “/post/123456789” link to your animal and I will delete the post for you! I only do this under request, please note: I’m not pushing you fine people to send me an ask every time your animals get claimed. That’s a lot of clutter in my already full inbox! Thank you!!

-

Q: Can you reserve an Animal for me/Message me when my favourite Animal is available?

A: No! Villageradopt is a first come, first serve, every mayor for himself environment. Nobody “Deserves” an animal more than anybody else, and I refuse to pick favourites.

-

Q: Hey! You should put an option for people to put prices in their posts!

A: No! We don’t encourage economic mindsets here! Making prices of animal public will only lead to bidding wars where the rich fight over the villagers until the price is so high that nobody else can even attempt to ask for an animal. Any exchange of bells for animals should be handled in private.
